Missions Conference. One week of intensive focus on ministry in a foreign culture. One week of concentration on what I know I have been called to. One week of realizing how little I know about what I am devoting my life to.

Surrender. That’s what I got out of this week. I need to surrender… particularly my desires and my wants. It’s frightening how little I consciously give up my rights. So often life just rolls by without me noticing what my motives truly are. I’m called to surrender, to stand before my God, hands held high, completely yielded and defenseless against Him.

Then, and only then, will He be pleased to direct me in His paths.
